In contrast to many other license activation systems that tie your software to one specific computer, our online activation system offers much more flexibility to suit your needs.
When you activate your ELWAVE software for the first time, you can choose between two activation methods: Fixed or Floating. If you plan to use the software on one computer only, please select Fixed to minimize the number of times that the software will need to connect to our License Key Server. If you plan to use the software on more than one computer, for example home and work, please select Floating.
With a Floating license, the software will connect to our license servers once every hour. This would be similar to logging into a real-time datafeed, except that the software does not require a permanent connecton to the server. To ensure maximum availability, your ELWAVE software can connect to four different and indepent license servers, each of which is hosted at a different location.
With a Fixed license, ELWAVE will only need to connect to our license servers once every month. This minimizes your dependence on an Internet connection to use the software but it does limit your use of the software to one computer. Please note that selecting 'Fixed' will not prevent you from installing and using the software on a new computer system, for example if you buy a new computer. You will be able to activate the software on the new computer immediately and without requiring intervention on our part.
Just as with the dongle-based license system, it is possible to obtain a second license (strictly for personal use only) in conjunction with a Premium Service Contract. The cost for this is a one-time fee of US$110 / € 110 plus the cost for the Premium Service Contract (US$295 / € 295 per year). This second license will remain active, with the same modules as your primary license, as long as you maintain the Premium Service Contract. If you already have two licenses (ie. two dongles) under this arrangement for an older version of ELWAVE, both these licenses will be transferred to the online system if you upgrade, allowing you to use the software on two computers at the same time, even if you choose Fixed activation. Of course we will then require two confirmation codes, one for each of your hardware locks.
If your computer was lost, for example in a fire, don't worry. Just download the software to your new computer and activate it using the same serial number. There is no need to 'de-activate' the software on your old computer.
if your computer was stolen and you are worried that someone else may continue using the software with your serial number, just let us know and we will glady provide you with a new serial number and disable the old one from our end.
